BRONXVILE, N.Y. – Don Krueger is the third of three inductees to be showcased on EIVAVolleyball.com as we look back at the careers of all three of the 2014 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Hall of Fame members.
Krueger, who had a historical career as a volleyball official, began working EIVA matches in the 1970’s. Don worked for almost 20 years as a familiar face around Penn State, as he would officiate the men’s and women’s matches at University Park.
“It is a great honor,” stated Krueger. “I worked alongside Tom Tate and looking back on my career now the game has changed a lot. I don’t think I could get back in it now,” chuckled Don.
Krueger worked three NCAA Nation Championship Semi-Finals and in 1975 he received his International Officials Certificate. Don worked in three Pan-Am Games, the 1976 Olympics, and traveled with U.S. National Team all over the world. Some of his stops were in Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Russia, Bulgaria, and Czechoslovakia.
All three EIVA Hall of Fame Inductees: Ramon Hernandez, Nestor Paslawsky, and Don Krueger will be formally recognized at the EIVA Championship match on Saturday, April 26th at Penn State University.
