EIVA Coaches Select Penn State as 2013 Favorite

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Penn State, the reigning 2012 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) champions, were selected as the favorite to capture the 2013 championship as voted by the league’s eight head coaches.

The Nittany Lions received 10 points and six of the eight first-place votes. George Mason (16) and Princeton (25) each picked up a first-place vote white Harvard (31) rounded out the top four selections.

St. Francis (Pa.) (43), NJIT (45), Sacred Heart (56) and Rutgers-Newark (62) completed the predicted order of finish in positions four through eight.

The EIVA championship tournament will begin with semifinal action on Thursday, April 25th and the championship match on Saturday, April 27th. The location of the entire tournament will be the home facility of the No. 1 seed. The winner of the championship match will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament which will be held at UCLA on May 2nd and 4th.
