George Mason Closes Road Trip with 3-1 Win at

Patriots hit .314 as a team in the win
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (January 30, 2010) - George Mason closed its
three-match road trip with a 3-1 win over IPFW on Saturday evening
at Gates Sports Center in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Patriots hit .314 as
a team to even their record at 2-2 on the season.
After falling behind early, Mason won the next three sets to drop
the Mastodons' record to 3-4 on the season. Set scores were 27-30,
30-20, 30-28 and 30-22.
The Patriots' offense was paced by sophomore Andrew Dentler, who
finished with 22 kills on 38 swings, and junior Eric Lucas, who
wrapped up the match with 16 kills on 35 swings. Lucas narrowly
missed a double-double with a total of nine digs. Freshman setter
Javier Perez led all players with 52 assists.
Darryl Shank led IPFW with 28 kills on 46 attempts. Shaun Dryden
recorded a match-high 14 digs.
