Former George Mason Standout Shaun Powell Continues Career in Denmark
ODENSE, Denmark (July 22, 2009) – After wrapping up his men’s volleyball career at George Mason as an AVCA Division I-II First-Team All-American in 2006, Shaun Powell has continued to play overseas as a member of the Marienlyst Volley Club in the Dansk Volleyball Forbund (DVBF) in Odense, Denmark for the past three seasons. Powell has excelled at the professional level as well, earning Opposite Hitter of the Year honors three times.

Harvard Overcomes Early 2-0 Deficit To Defeat NYU
NEW YORK - New York University grabbed the first two sets, but the Harvard men's volleyball team came back strong as the Crimson defeated the Violets, 3-2,Saturday afternoon at the Coles Sports Center. George Mason Season Outlook
The George Mason men’s volleyball team finished the 2008 season on a tear, winning 11 of its final 13 matches on the way to a berth in the EIVA Championship Match against the top-ranked team in the nation and eventual national champion Penn State. Although the Patriots were unable to knock off the Nittany Lions to advance to the NCAA Division I Men’s Volleyball Championships for the first time since the 1988 season, the team will attempt to carry its late season momentum into the 2009 campaign.
