Springfield Season Outlook

Season Outlook

Ending the 2007 season ranked third in the nation in Division III, SC
returns a solid group ready to compete for a birth in the EIVA Div. I
postseason a Hay Conference Championship and a fifth Div. III National
Championship in school history.  This season, Springfield will play host to
the Vollleyball Hall of Fame - Morgan Classic hosting USC, IPFW, and George
Mason the weekend of February 22 & 23 and the 2007 Molten Division III
Men's Invitational Volleyball Championship on the weekend of April 11-12.

Leading the Pride will be junior middle blocker Andy Sipe named a first
team AVCA Division III All-American.  A consistent force in the middle,
Sipe accumulated a .415 attacking percentage while recording a team-high
163 blocks, an impressive 27 of which were solo efforts.

Sophomore outside hitter A.J. Nally and junior opposite Ryan Fredrickson
were named second team Div. III All-Americans. Nally led the team with 236
digs.  Fredrickson, always the offensive threat, posted 318 kills on the
season averaging 3.66 per game.

All three received All-EIVA Div. III recognition as did senior libero
Brandon Waas.  Senior outside hitters Eric Palumbo and Javier Rosario will
provide experience and leadership.

ready for an exciting season," Charlie Sullivan.
