Aaron Russell , Penn State

Sophomore Aaron Russell has been selected as the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week after helping Penn State close out the regular season with 3-0 sweeps of Rutgers-Newark and NJIT. Russell led the team with 17 kills, averaging 3.40 kills per set on a team-best .542 hitting percentage. He also led the team in digs with 19, averaging 3.80 digs per set, and aces with 4 (0.80 aces per set). Aaron also had a team-best 23.5 points. Against Rutgers-Newark, Russell was second on the team in kills with six and hit .625 after notching only one error in eight swings. He also led the team in digs with six and was second in blocks with three. Against NJIT, Russell tied for first on the team with 11 kills on a match-high .500 hitting percentage. He had a match-high three aces and 13 digs and also added two blocks. This is Aaron’s third EIVA Offensive Player of the Week selection in 2013.
